Vasilikos is not actually a village, this is the name of an area on a small peninsula of southeast Zakynthos. The whole peninsula is also referred to as Vasilikos. The region is characterized by green landscape, mountain views and sandy beaches. Many people claim that the best beaches on the island are namely on this peninsula.

In Vasilikos there are many hotels, big and small, guesthouses, restaurants and super markets. Many of the beaches are organized with sunbeds and umbrellas to rent, others are part of the National Marine Park and nests of the turtles can be seen. The largest and most famous beaches on the peninsula are Banana and Gerakas. The rest are:
- Porto Kaminia, Porto Zoro and Ionion to the east (the last being a prolongation of Banana beach)
- Agios Nikolaos, Mavrantzis and Porto Roma to the south
- Dafni and Sekania to the west, as Sekania is accessible on foot
