Kalogria

Kalogria

Kalogria is the best beach on Skyros island for families with small kids. It has easy access, very shallow water around the shore and operating beach bar in the summer.

Kalogria is located in a bay on the northwest coast, called Kyra Panagia. The bay has three beaches - Kalogria, Kyra Panagia and one smaller beach without a name but all of them are often referred to as Kyra Panagia. Kalogria is the largest of them, covered with sand and small pebbles. The shore and the sea bottom are also sandy, and in calm weather the water is smooth and without a single wave.

In the summer half of the beach is occupied by the sunbeds and parasols of the beach bar, as there is also a changing cabin and parking spaces for cars. In general, no matter the bar it is a quiet place and less visited than the beaches around the capital. Skyros Chora is 16 km away and you need a car or bike to reach Kalogria. Around it there are no hotels, the closest accommodations are in Atsitsa (2 km away).
