Agios Petros

Agios Petros

On the north coast of Skyros island, near the airport, you will find the beach of Agios Petros. The most distinctive feature of this beach are large sand dunes behind it but despite this, the shore is pebbly and there are rocks in the sea.

Agios Petros is 16 km away from Skyros Chora. The last few kilometers include driving on unpaved road but it is in good condition and there are enough signboards to guide you. The beach has no facilities and its location is quite exposed to the strong north winds, so it is usually visited by nudists and people who want to find a quieter place (even tents can be spotted among the trees). There are no hotels or restaurants around it, except for a seasonal taverna called Agios Petros as well - it is on the crossroad 1 km before you reach the beach.

Near Agios Petros starts the hiking trail which leads to Agalipa - a sandy beach with transparent blue water considered one of the most beautiful on the island.
