Atsitsa

Atsitsa

Atsitsa is a small hamlet on the northwest coast of Skyros and it is the only place in this part of the island which resembles a village. It has a few hotels, two tavernas and a small rocky beach, surrounded by thick pine trees. Due to its remote location and tranquility, recently it has become a preferred place for holistic holidays or for hikers.

In the past Atsitsa used to be a harbor of the iron mines on the island and today you can still see ruins of the loading facilities. The beach is next to the ex harbor and right opposite lies the islet of Atsitsa which can be easily reached by swimmers. Nearby is the isolated rocky beach of Petritsa (1 km south), and if you prefer sandy beaches, Kalogria is also close and offers a beach bar in the summer.
