One of the most secluded beaches of the island and yet accessible by car, Fatourena lies next to Rivari lagoon - a natural reserve for birds. The only inhabited settlement in northwest Milos, Embourios, is 2 km away.
Fatourena is not much visited, and the few people going there are usually naturists. The sand is mixed with pebbles and there are no facilities. The capital Plaka can be clearly seen in the distance, on the opposite side of the horseshoe. On the hill above the beach is the old church of Agia Marina (you should pass by it in order to reach Fatourena).
