Stafylos

Stairs leading to the beach

Just like Panormos, Stafylos (also Stafilos) is too small to be called a village. It comes to life only in summer when the hotels, rooms to rent and the couple of tavernas are open. Stafylos is just 4 km away from Skopelos Town and it is suitable for accommodation as it is close to the lively capital but quiet and peaceful in the evenings. It also has beautiful sea views as is it built on a hill but the road down to the beach is steep and not proper for people with walking difficulties.

Stafylos beach is wonderful, one of the few beaches on the island to be described as sandy. It has coarse sand with small pebbles around the shore and a beach bar during the summer. Yet the beach is long and you may have some privacy no matter the bar. At the end of Stafylos beach, a small path will lead you to the neighbor beach of Velanio which is even longer and known as the official nude beach of Skopelos.
