Gialaki

Distant view

If there are any undiscovered by tourists beaches in Sithonia, then Gialaki is one of them. It is a medium size beach located in a cove between Pyrgadikia and Akti Salonikiou, in the northeast part of Sithonia. A small line of olive trees and vegetation separates Gialaki from the main road but the access is very easy.

The beach has sand mixed with boulders and small colorful pebbles around the shore. When entering the sea, you will notice that the sea bottom is covered with flat rocks (and that is the reason why tourists avoid the place) but after a few meters the rocks are replaced by velvet soft sand and shallow water. Actually even the rocks are "dressed" in something like soft moss and walking on them does not feel sharp or slippery but some people may find it unpleasant. Small crabs and fish hide in the tiny holes of the rocks and entertain the kids.

Gialaki has one homely fish taverna and a beach cantina which offers free sunbeds and parasols for its clients. Shower and changing cabin are also available but usually there are not many people here and those who come are either locals, or Greek tourists from the nearby villas.
