Brooke Square

This small round square was named after the English poet Rupert Brooke whose grave is in the southwest part of the island. Brooke died on a hospital ship anchored near the shore of Skyros and he was buried there according to his will.

The Brooke Square is located in the lower part of Skyros Chora, with beautiful view of Magazia and Molos. It can be reached by car via a steep narrow road or on foot from the village center. There are also concrete steps which start from the outskirts of Magazia and lead right to the square.
