Magazia

On the east coast of Skyros island and right under Skyros Chora, you will find the large beach of Magazia. The north end of this long beach strip is known as Molos but practically both are one and the same place, Magazia being closer to Chora.

Magazia is the best choice for tourists who come to the island without a car and want to spend a few lazy days at the beach - all hotels are very close to the sea and Skyros Chora is nearby for evening walks. At the back of Magazia, there is a path of steps which lead to Brooke square of the village, and after that the village center with all its restaurants, cafes and shops is less than 10 minutes walk. If you plan accommodation in Magazia but you come with your own transport, note that the alleys in this settlement are quite narrow and most of them dead-end, so it will be very difficult if your hotel does not provide parking spaces.

The beach of Magazia is the same as Molos - entirely sandy and with a few beach tavernas which offer sunbeds and parasols for the clients. Although the sea quickly gets deep around the shore and in windy days there are big waves, the beach strip of Magazia-Molos is one of the best on the island.
