Ano Lechonia
Ano Lechonia is a village next to Agria and about 11 km away from the center of Volos Town. The main road of the peninsula which goes down to the southernmost part of Pelion passes though the lower part of the village where there are a few small shops, mini-market, cafes and a gas station.
The village is better known for the railway station from which the touristic steam train of Pelion departs. The train runs on a narrow gauge line which gradually climbs up the mountain, passing through tunnels and bridges, until it finally reaches the village of Milies. After Milies the train goes back to Ano Lechonia.
In Ano Lechonia you can see both old and new houses. Except for the main street, the rest are quite narrow and most of them are one-way, leading up to the nearby villages of Agios Vlasios and Agios Lavrentios. The closest beaches are Platanidia and Malaki, both at a distance of less than 2 km.
