Kastani
The most sandy beach of the island, Kastani, lies next to Milia beach on the west coast. It is surrounded by pine trees and cliffs and most of the scenes of the Mamma Mia! movie were shot here. The access is easy, via a short but wide unpaved road which starts from the main road.
As we said, Kastani is very sandy compared to the other beaches of Skopelos, there are some tiny pebbles around the shore. Before the movie the beach was non-organized but today there is a beach cafe operating in the summer. The beach overlooks the nearby islet of Dasia and the island of Skiathos.
