Kampos
Kampos (pronounces as Kambos) is one of the largest beaches on the island, along with Livadi and Messakti. It is on the north coast, a few km away from Evdilos. Around the beach there are a few houses and restaurants. The main road from Evdilos to Armenistis goes round Kampos, and along it you will notice ruins of old walls and buildings - this is the ancient site of Oinoe, an old capital of Ikaria. On the site you can also visit a museum with excavated tools and vessels, as well as the oldest church on the island - Agia Irini, built in the 12 century over the ruins of a basilica.
Kampos is entirely sandy, with relatively shallow water but like all north beaches in Ikaria, sometimes strong currents may be present. In the summer a couple of beach bars operate, offering sunbeds and parasols.
