Megalo Livadi

Megalo Livadi

Megalo Livadi is a hamlet on the south coast of Serifos island. It is mostly known for the abandoned mines in the area and the old loading pier which is nowadays an attraction for tourists.

The village is very small and there are only two tavernas by the sea and handful of houses, including some villas to rent. The beach in front of the tavernas is a narrow strip of sand and pebbles, with some trees for natural shade - it is not shallow but due to the location it is well sheltered from winds.

The distance from Megalo Livadi to the port and Serifos Chora is not long but the trip takes approximately 30 minutes because this part of the island is hilly and has many turns. Near the village one can visit the wild beaches of Kalogeros and Kondouro, accessible only on foot, and the large beaches of Koutalas, Ganema and Vagia are 6 km away.
