Asprouliani

Asprouliani is rather an area than a village. It is located between the seaside resort of Georgioupoli and Paralia Kournas. Asprouliani is separated from the sea by the main island road Chania-Rethymno.

The nearest beach is part of a very long beach strip with sandy dunes. It stretches for a few kilometers and connects Georgioupoli with Paralia Kournas, as the middle part of the beach between these two resorts is known as Peristeras beach. Sunbeds and parasols are provided by beach bars but there is a lot of empty space to ensure privacy to anyone. In some places the seafloor is shallow around the shore, and in other it quickly gets deeper. North wind and waves are often present due to the open location and the sea is rarely calm. For this reason here you can practice sports like windsurfing, kitesurfing and paragliding.
