Gefyra

Blue all around

Gefyra is the official name of the beach of Liapades village but usually people call it Liapades beach. Roughly it is 1 km away from the center of the village but the distance between both is filled with hotels, houses, restaurants and shops so there is no clear border between them. All accommodation and food options are namely around the beach, perched on the hills above it, and the road slopes down to the sea.

In the summer the beach is well organized by a few beach tavernas and plenty of sunbeds and parasols are available. The sand is mixed with pebbles and water quickly gets deep around the shore but even in windy weather there are no big waves because the beach lies in a sheltered cove. Rock surround it from both sides, forming small sea caves. Just next to Gefyra is the more isolated Rovinia beach, and a bit south of it you can reach Limni beach.

From Gefyra boat taxis are available to Rovinia, Paleokastritsa and some of the other beaches in the area which are not reachable by car or on foot.
