Xirosterni

Xirosterni

Xirosterni is a small, old and very quiet village in the Apokoronas area, close to the wild cape Drapanos. It is between Kefalas and Gavalochori, and despite its isolated location, it is just 5.5 km from the coastal resort of Almyrida.

You can hardly meet someone while walking in the narrow streets of the village, among flowers and green trees peeping out from the yards. There are no amenities like shops or restaurants, except for a small cafeteria and a mini market on the cross road before the village entrance. Some of the old stone houses are available as villas to rent. Close to Xirosterni is the rocky cove of Ombrosgialos, perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

At the northernmost point of cape Drapanos lies the beautiful underwater Cave of the Elephants which can be explored by divers.
