Karousades
Karousades is a large village in the north part of Corfu island, between Roda and Sidari. It is almost merged with the neighbor settlements of Kavaliouri and Antiperni, and over 1000 local residents live here all year round. Karousades is 2 km away from the seaside and the closest beach is Astrakeri.
Although not by the sea, Karousades is relatively alive and has mini markets, tavernas, cafes and a pharmacy. Most of the houses are old and in the typical Corfiot architecture, mixed with newer buildings in the same style. Some parts of the village offer view toward the green valleys around. No hotels are available but there are holiday homes and rooms to rent, in a authentic and peaceful atmosphere and yet close to the beach. Sidari with its famous Canal D`amour is less than 15 minutes drive.
