Ano Pavliana

Ano Pavliana is an old mountainous village in the west part of Corfu island. The seaside with the closest beach of Paramonas is about 5 km away so the village is more isolated and has no tourist facilities. The closest larger villages are Kato Garouna and Agios Mattheos (5 km).

The village is accessible via a narrow mountainous road with many turns but in good condition. If you are coming to Ano Pavliana from the north, you will first pass by Kato Pavliana - a lower neighborhood which has formed as a separate village. No hotels are available in Ano Pavliana and tourists come here for a walk, as the old stone houses and narrow streets of the settlement represent the typical for the island architecture. There is a small church in the village center with some free space around it and you can leave your car there. You will also find two cafeterias and a pantopolio (literally meaning a place from which you can buy anything but actually a mini market).
