Paleokastro
Paleokastro ist eine antike Akropolis auf einem Hügel über Mandraki auf der Insel Nisyros. Die Festung wurde um das 4. Jahrhundert v. Chr. erbaut und ihre Mauern fielen zum Meeresufer hin ab.
Der heute am besten erhaltene Teil ist die Spitze der Festung mit dicken Mauern aus dunklem Vulkangestein, die an manchen Stellen über 3 Meter hoch sind. Paleokastro bietet einen Panoramablick auf Mandraki und das Kloster Panagia Spilliani.
