Stelida

The south part of the peninsula at the back

Stelida is a peninsula on the northwest coast of Naxos, 3 km away from the airport and 5-6 km from the port of Naxos Town. Plenty of hotels (including boutique ones) and villas to rent are built on the peninsula and they are known for their peaceful location and sea views. One of the hotels has a small aqua park which accepts daily visitors as well.

The peninsula is hilly and there is just one beach in the north, called Marandi (Maranthi) - it is large, with mixed sand and pebbles. Some of the nearby hotels place sunbeds and parasols for their client on small areas of the beach but in general it is not organized and often exposed to winds. Except for Marandi, there are also a few tiny strips, accessible only from the closest hotels. The large beach of Agios Prokopios is just below Stelida and the church of Agios Prokopios, so depending on the location of your hotel you may be very close to it. In the village you can find restaurants, bakeries, cafes and various services.

The coastal area between Stelida and Naxos Town is characterized by a few lagoons which you will see from the road. They are gathering point for surf lovers and there are two centers offering windusurf lessons and SUP surf lessons both for adults and kids.
