Kolona

Kolona is the most iconic beach of Kythnos. It is a narrow strip of sand which connects the island with the islet of Agios Lucas, forming a tombolo.

Kolona is located on the northwest coast of Kythnos, accessible by car via narrow road or by water taxi from the port of Merichas. Because of its scenic landscape and proximity to Athens, the place attracts many visitors in the summer, especially those who come by boats and yachts. The only taverna operating at the beach offers a limited number of sunbeds and parasols to rent so you`d better be prepared with your own sun protection because there is no natural shade.
