Kanoni-Kassiopi

Rocks at Bataria

The name Kanoni-Kassiopi is used to distinguish this place from the Kanoni peninsula on Corfu since both are entirely different. Otherwise the name of this beach is just Kanoni. Maybe in the past it used to be a secluded place but it is no more a secret to tourists. This beach lies next to Bataria - a beach in the northernmost part of the small peninsula on which Kassiopi village is built. In order to reach Kanoni, you just have to walk 20-30 meters through the path that separate it from Bataria.

One can hardly call Kanoni a beach. Instead of sand it has flat rocks on which you can easily spread your towel or use one of the sunbeds provided by the taverna which manages Bataria. In the middle of the rocks a very tiny beach has formed in the shape of the letter "Ω", and although it has a spot of small pebbles, there is space for not more than 2 persons, literally. So most people lie on the rocks and swim in the crystal clear blue water. This part of Kassiopi is highly appreciated for snorkeling because of the many rocks between Kanoni and its neighbors Bataria and Pipitos.
