Bourtzi

The peninsula divided the new port from the old port

Bourtzi is the small peninsula next to the port of Skiathos Town. It divides the new port (where ferries arrive) from the old port which is used for small boats only.

The peninsula has paved alleys surrounded by pine trees and it is a popular place for walks because of the beautiful views and the restaurant which operates there in the summer.

In the past there was a Venetian fort built on the peninsula but today you can barely see any ruins of it. In the middle of Bourtzi is the building which houses the Museum of Naval and Cultural Traditions of Skiathos and the open air theater.
