Anafi Chora

Anafi Chora, or just Chora, is the capital of Anafi. In fact, it is the only village in the island where locals live all year round.

Chora is built amphitheatrically on a hill 250 meters above the sea and it is a typical old village with genuine Cycladic architecture. The houses in Anafi look very much like the houses you can see in Thirasia - small single-room dwellings with arched roofs. The village is car-free, with steep alleys and stairs which lead to a small square and the ruins of a Venetian castle. On the top of the village stands out the church of Agios Georgios, with a great panoramic view of the island and the sea.

In Anafi Chora you will find several tavernas, cafes, mini market, a bakery and car rental companies.
