Kirche der Agia Sofia
Die Kirche Agia Sofia ist eine bedeutende historische Sehenswürdigkeit. Es handelt sich um eine große byzantinische Kirche aus dem 7. Jahrhundert und eine der 15 UNESCO-Stätten in Thessaloniki. Die Struktur der Kirche folgte dem Vorbild der Kirche Agia Sophia in Konstantinopel (heute Istanbul).
Die Kirche liegt im Zentrum von Thessaloniki, in der Nähe vieler historischer Stätten der Stadt. Es beherbergt die Reliquien des Heiligen Basilius des Bekenners, Erzbischof von Thessaloniki.
