Zografou

The blue-green landscape around the beach

Zografou is a beach on the east coast of Sithonia, 10 km south of Vourvourou. It lies between the coves of Lacara and Bahia and it is accessible via dirt road which deviates from the main road of the peninsula. The deviation is the same which leads to Bahia.

Zografou is not freely accessible and that usually drives back visitors. The beach is managed by Porto Elea campsite and in order to reach it, you have to pay entrance fee and to cross the common area of the campsite on foot. The entrance to Zografou is closed by a barrier and the greenery around hides the beach from the eyes so some people miss it and go to Bahia instead, or they think that the beach is private and only for the campsite guests.

The beach is surrounded by cliffs from both sides and there is also a small pier for those who come by boat. The sea water here has the same saturated blue-green color which is distinguishing for the rest beaches of this area as well (Bahia, Manassu and Rodia). The sand is mixed with pebbles and the sea bottom is rocky and deep around the shore, not suitable for small kids but perfect for snorkeling.
