Nas

Nas beach

Nas used to be an isolated beach frequented by nudes or free campers. But its fame as exotic and wild place, mentioned by travelers on the web, brought other people as well and today it is not isolated anymore, although campers still prefer it. Above the beach there are even a few taverns and rooms to rent.

Nas lies on the northwest coast, close to Armenistis. The main road ends in front of the taverns and the beach is accessed via short narrow path. Nas is set in a small bay between two cliffs and at first sight you will notice something like a small pond on the sand - this is the Chalares river which comes from the mountain and ends there. Depending on the flow, sometimes you need to cross of a few meters of shallow water at the end of the path, in order to get to the beach. Nas has fine sand but its waters are deep and sometimes dangerous, with big waves and strong currents. On the beach you can also see remains of the ancient sanctuary of Artemis Tavropolos.
