La Scala

Actually the original name of this beach is Kohylia but no one uses it anymore. It is known as La Scala - the name of a beach bar with restaurant which maintains the beach in the summer. La Scala is very close to Limenas town (4 km), located between the beaches of Glyfada and Papalimani. Like all the rest beaches in this part of the island, it is surrounded by numerous pine trees.

The beach bar is very well organized and decorated, kept clean all the time, but due to the small size it gets very crowded in July and August, especially in weekends. It attracts mostly locals and young tourist couples who want to enjoy beach atmosphere with nice music. The beach is sandy and shallow around the shore but the sea bottom is covered with small pebbles at some place.

Around La Scala there are just two hotels and no other buildings. The hotels are not so close as to disturb the visitors of the beach in any way.
