Katouna

Katouna is a small village on the mountain slopes above Lygia, Lefkada island. The village is considered one of the oldest in the island and has preserved the spirit of the past times through its stone hoses and spiderweb of narrow streets. Currently some of the houses are tastefully renovated and turned into luxury villas or holiday retreats in traditional style. The village is often visited by tourists for its traditional tavernas with delicious meals.

Lygia is 1.5 km away and is the prime choice for shops and beaches, and Lefkada Town is relatively close by car. Due to its location on the east side of the island, Katouna is away from the most popular beaches of Lefkada. It takes from half to one hour to reach the beaches of Pefkoulia, Kathisma, Gialos, Egremni and Porto Katsiki.
