Akti Salonikiou

Akti Salonikiou, or just Salonikiou, is an area on the northeast coast of Sithonia, between Ormos Panagias and Pyrgadikia. The closest villages are Metangitsi (4 km, in the mountain), Pyrgadikia (5 km) and Agios Nikolaos (5 km). The harbor of Ormos Panagias is 12 km away.

Most of the buildings in the region used to be private villas and accommodation was very limited but since the place has grabbed the attention of tourists and travel agencies for the last 4-5 years, more complexes with studios and apartments to rent have been built. The place however is still very calm to stay, as there are no shops or tavernas. The beach is actually two beaches next to each other, one more than 1 km long and one smaller to the north. The smaller one has a beach cantina which offers sunbeds and parasols, and the larger one has only one beach bar. Usually people who come to the beaches of Salonikiou wear their own sun protection because the place is not crowded even in high season and still there is plenty of space for everyone. Both beaches have sand mixed with small pebbles.
