Mandraki Harbor

The emblematic port

Mandraki harbor is also known as the Marina of Rhodes. It is a port for small boats and yachts, located in Rhodes Town.

Although Mandraki is out of the walls of the Medieval Town, it is considered part of it because of its historical significance. It is presumed that the exact location of the mythical colossus of Rhodes was namely at the entrance of Mandraki. The giant statue of was later ruined by a severe earthquake and there are no traces left from the colossus today, but the harbor itself is a very nice for a walk, with view of the ancient walls, authentic windmills and a small fortress from 15 century.

At the harbor entrance you will notice two statues of deer from both sides of the pier - it is considered that in the past the feet of the colossus were placed namely there.
