Choudetsi

Choudetsi (Houdetsi) is an inland village of Crete, 23 km south of Heraklion Town. The houses are built among many green trees and the place is calm but yet there are enough restaurants, cafes and small shops for basic goods. The village hosts an interesting museum where rare music instruments from all over the world are exhibited. It is called the Musical Workshop Labyrinth and it has existed for 35 years.
A hiking trails starts from Choudetsi and goes to the neighbor village of Agios Vasilios, passing by a small gorge and the monastery of Panagia Spiliotissa, part of which is built in a rock. The traditional village of Archanes is 9 km away.
