Ipapandi Church

Church on a small islet connected with causeway

Ipapandi Church, also written as Ypapanti and Ypapandi, is like a mini copy of the iconic Vlacherna Monastery and not much known to holidaymakers. It is located in the gulf of Gouvia, opposite the marina. Like Vlacherna, the church is set on a small islet connected to a peninsula via small bridge. Ipapandi is connected with Kommeno peninsula, a green cape with secluded pebbly coves and scattered hotels and private villas. Namely on Kommeno you can find some of the most luxury hotels and villas on the island. The area where the church is located is also known as Limni.

Ipapandi church is small and few people visit it. It lacks the crowds and glamour of Vlacherna but if there were cafeterias with view from above, you would have been able to see the entire gulf of Gouvia with the marina and the Venetian Shipyard, as well as Corfu Town.
