Arkitsa is one of the entry points to Evia island and it serves the ferry route to Loutra Edipsou. Loutra Edipsou is a spa center village and is famous for its hot mineral springs and spa hotels. The ferry from Arkitsa is preferred way to reach that part of Evia because the island is mountainous with slow and curvy roads.
During the day the ferry runs on regular intervals and is very frequent during the summer months. Tickets are sold at the port and cost around 4 euro for adult and around 17 euro for medium sized car. It takes 30 minutes or less to travel from the island to the mainland or back.
