Achlada

Achlada

Achlada is an old inland village of Crete, a few km away from the seaside Agia Pelagia. In the past Agia Pelagia was only the fishing harbor of Achlada but after the resort started to develop, the residents of the village moved to the seaside and engaged themselves in tourism. Today only about 100 people live in Achlada, and most of the houses are old, some of them even in ruins.

The village is built on a hill overlooking the sea and it is very peaceful. There is one taverna.
