Vasiliki

Vasiliki is one of the most famous villages on the island, located in a bay in the southernmost part of Lefkada. It is also a very popular place among windsurfers due to the afternoon hot wind, called Eric, which appears in the bay in the summer. There is even a windsurfing club with hotel which organizes accommodation with daily windsurfing lessons by professionals. Other water sports are practiced, too. Interestint fact is that despite the wind, there are no waves here.

The village is not very big, there are hotels and studios to rent, bakery, medical center and ATM. The few restaurants and cafes are set around the small harbor. From the harbor you can rent boats or take a trip to the neighbor islands Kefalonia and Ithaca (during the summer months). Most visitors of the resort are young people.

The beach of Vasiliki is about 1.5 km long. It is pebbly but the water is very clear and the sea gets deep gradually. The new part of Vasiliki is called Ponti and sometimes is also referred to as a separate settlement but the two places are merged.

Near Vasiliki you can visit the long and sandy Egremni beach, as well as Porto Katsiki - the world-famous beach of Lefakada. There are also other small bays accessible by car or boat.
