Tzamaria

Tzamaria is one of the less known beaches of Ios island, although close to Chora and the port. It is a narrow strip of sand and pebbles, just below the road which goes from Gialos to Koumbara. The place is sheltered from winds and the sea is very calm, with shallow water and rocks from both sides, suitable for snorkeling.

There are no facilities at Tzamaria and you need to bring your own sun protection, food and drinks. The beach is opposite the church of Agia Irini and the port, and you can often see ferries and boats arriving at or departing from Ios.
