Tsikalia

Tsikalia

Tsikalia is a small village on a ridge above Kyparissos and away from the sea, in Mani, Peloponnese. The village is narrow and elongated, and the houses are built in the highest part. Centuries of agricultural activities have transformed the surrounding landscape and countless numbers of terraces lead down to lower grounds. Now olive trees cover the previously barren and inhospitable rocky slopes.

Tsikalia and the area around it is known as the Balcony of Mani as it boasts magnificent views to the sea and rocky hills topped with hamlets of Maniot stone tower homes. The road in and around the village has enlarged areas where people can stop with their cars and enjoy the views. For the curious ones there are 4 churches to discover. The closest beaches of Almira and Kyparissos are easily reachable by car.
