Thimonia

Thimonia is a pebbly beach on the southeast coast of Thassos, located between Livadi beach and Aliki. It is named after the ancient site of Thimonia - ruins of a tower, about 1 km inwards.

Thimonia lies in a small bay. Sand is mixed with pebbles and boulder, and the sea bottom is rocky at the some place but due to these rocks the water is very transparent and clean. The place is usually quiet and not much visited. Around the beach there are a few small complexes with apartments to rent and one hotel. In the summer the hotel provides sunbeds and parasols for its guests and they occupy a small part of the beach. Drinks and snacks are available at the hotel bar, and in the neighbor bay of Skidia 1 km away there is a nice seaside taverna. The closest supermarket is in Aliki.
