Strongyli
Strongyli is a small village in southeast Corfu, approximately 1.5 km away from the sea. It is between Benitses and Moraitika and lies in a large valley. Agios Ioannis Peristeron, an area with hotels by the sea, is actually the seaside part of Strongyli and there is the closest beach - a quite narrow strip of sand and gravel.
The first impression of Strongyli is that the houses are somehow scattered, with large green spaces between them. There is one taverna and a cafe-bar operating all year round, and by the sea there are other restaurants as well. The closest beaches on the west coast are Paramonas, Prasoudi and Agios Gordios are within 8-12 km away, all large and sandy.
