Spartilas

Spartilas is a picturesque village stretchered along a narrow road climbing up the slope of Pantokrator mountain, Corfu island. The village is around 1 km long but the road curves so many times that it takes 4.5 km to drive through the village. The road is very narrow and two cars can not always pass at the same time. The houses are predominantly built looking east to benefit from the splendid view to the sea - known as "The window of Corfu".

Spartilas is an old village and most of the houses are old, with few new built in the same Corfiot architectural style. Some foreigners chose to resettle to this area and live here at least during the summer season. The accommodation consists of houses or villas. The villas in the village are usually old renovated buildings, where the ones at the lower end (which face the sea) are usually newly built. There are no parking spaces in the central areas and tourists usually park their cars at the outskirts of the village (unless they have a dedicated parking space).

In Spartilas there are small shops, tavernas and cafes just enough to meet the everyday need of both local people and tourists. Pyrgi is only 1 km away with Ipsos, Dassia and Gouvia following one after another if driving towards Corfu Town.
