Skala Prinos

Skala Prinos (also known as Skala Prinou) is a port resort in the northwestern part of Thassos, where ferries from Kavala arrive. The buses going to the capital Limenas and other major villages on the island depart from here.

Previously it was only the place where ferries come and go but recently it has developed as a quiet resort. There are some shops, cafes and restaurants, ATM and vehicle rental. If you are staying in Skala Prinos you can walk to the village of Prinos, which is now almost merged with the resort. Tourists visit Prinos for its local market which is held once a week, offering natural products from the region - oil, olives and honey.

The beach is narrow, sand mixed with gravel. The area around Skala Prinos is known as Dasilio and there you can find small, secluded beaches and a big camping site. Like on the entire western coast, sunsets here are beautiful.
