Villages in Santorini

The word "Santorini" immediately evokes in our mind an image of those terraced-built white houses on a vertical rock overlooking the caldera. Oia, Fira, Firostefani and Imerovigli exactly fit this description, and the walk around their narrow cobbled alleys is like a fairy tale. Another place not to miss is Pyrgos, an inner village with panoramic views, as well as the old villages of Megalochori and Emporio where you can feel what Santorini was many years ago.

The seaside resorts of the island are on the east coast, Kamari, Perissa and Perivolos being the most developed and popular among tourists. They have neither caldera, nor views, but long strips of dark sand stretch right in front of them.
