Provatas lies on the south seaside of
Milos, located between the beaches of
Firiplaka and
Kipos. Actually it consists of three small bays separated by cliffs. There are a few beach taverns, one of them providing sunbeds and umbrellas.
Provatas is the most shallow beach of the island and you can easily walk in the sea from one bay to the other. The sand is soft and fine and the bay is well protected from wind (except for the south wind which is very rare for Milos). Just behind the easternmost bay, there is a big hotel.
