Potos is a seaside resort in the south part of Thassos, close to Limenaria. In clear weather you can see in the distance the outlines of Mount Athos, Halkidiki.

In the past the place was just the port of the village of Theologos, located in the inland, and the permanent settlers appeared in the last few decades. Today Potos is one of the more famous resorts on the island and popular among younger people and families with small children. Among the fishermen of the island, it is known as the place on the island where most octopus and squid can be netted.

The town is small but offers everything necessary for a holiday - taverns, bars, cafes, more than 30 in number and concentrated around the coast. The streets are scattered with small shops and local bakeries. The hotels are small and family run, offering mostly apartments and studios to rent without food. The resort has one ATM.

Potos has three beaches. The most visited is right next to the promenade, with fine sand. Almost all of it is occupied with sunbeds and umbrellas. The other two beaches are sandy mixed with gravel and large stones, so aqua shoes are desirable. The water everywhere is very clean and transparent, the bottom is visible even at great depth. In some places the sea suddenly goes deep.

On the beach there are courts for volleyball and football. Boats and pedal boats are available to rent.
