Porto Vathy

Porto Vathy is a relatively new beach destination for the tourists of Thassos. It is the other marble beach of Thassos, located 500 meters south of Saliara in a small cove covered with white marble pieces from the quarry. These marbles are tiny and very smooth, sparkling under the sun and giving the water a bright blue color. The beach existed before but even when people started to visit Saliara, it was totally unknown.

Porto Vathy (it is different from Vathi beach) is accessible via the same dirt road which goes to Saliara. The beach is now managed by a beach bar with the same name and provides plenty of facilities for its guests - sunbeds, parasols, changing cabins and volleyball net. There are also covered tables and big sofas for relaxation, and during some weekends evening beach parties are organized. The bar offers drinks, salads and light meals so you can spend the entire day on the beach.
