Porto Koufo
Porto Koufo is a small fishing village on the southwest coast of Sithonia, 4 km from Toroni. Porto Koufo is the largest natural harbor of Greece, 1,600 meters long and 550 m wide. Its name means "deaf harbor" and according to the legend, its old residents called it this way because the sound of the sea cannot be heard in the bay.
The place looks and feel calmer than the other villages of Sithonia, maybe because of the deep water - there is a long strip of coarse sand but the coastline is steep and the seabed is pebbled. Except for the harbor, Porto Koufo is also known for the fresh fish tavernas at the village pier.
