Porto Kagio

Remote village with narrow beach and pier for boats

Porto Kagio is one of the remotest places of Mani and it offers a perfect escape from civilization. It is the southernmost part of the peninsula where the landscape is presented by high barren hills and indented coast with bays.

In one of these bays lies the small fishing port of Porto Kagio, with 3 or 4 hotels and one mini-market. The beach is pebbled but well protected from winds and there are almost no waves. The large sandy beach of Marmari is very close, just 3 km away, and in the area you can also visit the abandoned village of Vathia and Cape Tenaro.
