Pefkochori is one of the largest resorts on the east coast of Kassandra, between Hanioti and Paliouri. Its name literally means pine village because of the pine trees which surround it. Its permanent inhabitants are about 1700.

The resort has old and new part, separated from the main road. The old part has small squares and steep streets. There are almost no restaurants in it, just houses and hotels.

The new part is located between the main road and the beach. It abounds in shops, restaurants, taverns, pizzerias and cafes. There is a long promenade and a mini amusement park for children. In Pefkochori boat trips are organized to the other two legs. Boat rentals are also available.

The beach is not very wide and therefore it is often crowded in the high season but after Pefkochori there is a 10km long non-populated beach strip on which you can easily find privacy.
