Paralia Vergas is a seaside village near Kalamata. It is a holiday resort which has developed from the nearby villages of Ano Verga and Kato Verga and thus its name - Paralia Vergas means ”the beach of Verga”. It is sometimes considered a district of Kalamata because the distance between both is just 4 km.

Paralia Vergas has many hotels, rooms to rent and some restaurants. There is no central part or a square, though. All the buildings are along the main road which runs parallel to the sea. There are two beaches, both narrow and pebbles. The south beach is longer and known as Almiros (Paralia Almirou) and it has a few beach bars with sunbeds and parasols. The north beach is smaller has no facilities at all.
